Who Is The Dining Doctor?

The Dining Doctor ~ Mike Griffin
|
Michael Griffin began his career in the restaurant industry in 1982 at age 13
as so many young people do, bussing tables in a small neighborhood Italian Restaurant.
After a few months he was in the kitchen making salads, soups, and baking bread.
On his sixteenth birthday, he was hired by Hyatt Hotels to assist in their four-diamond
award winning establishment, Wicker’s. He found he had a love for the fast paced
environment and a knack for being at ease with people. In 1987, Michael chose to
further his career in Hotel/Restaurant Management at Florida State University. Michael
completed school in 1991 and became a General Manager for Buffalo’s Restaurants
in Atlanta. After three years with Buffalo’s, Michael successfully toured the East
Coast as a country music singer. During this time, Michael was employed by the famed
La Grotta Ristorante, and would work evenings when not performing. At age 28, Michael
decided to further pursue his passion for food and focused 100% of his efforts on
his Restaurant career. He has since held upper management positions for such companies
as Lone Star Steakhouse, Hooter’s, The Blue Fin in California, Yia Yia’s award winning
Café in Memphis, and owned two of his own restaurant concepts.
Industry professionals for assistance in marketing, menu and concept development,
and general restaurant knowledge seek after Michael. Michael is married to his wife
Sylvia and has a baby boy named Luke. Michael currently resides in Downtown Atlanta.
